App for fresh allotment of PAN can be made through Internet. Further, desires for changes or a static correction in PAN data or request reprint of GRIDDLE card (for an existing PAN) are often made through Internet.

Online application can be made through the portal of NSDL or portal of UTITSL. The charges for applying for PAN is Rs. 107 (including service tax) for Indian communication address and Rs. 994 (including service tax) for foreign communication address. Payment of software payment can be made through credit/debit card, demand draft or net-banking. When the application and repayment is accepted, the customer is required to send the supporting documents through courier/post to NSDL/UTITSL. Just following the receipt of the documents, PAN application would be processed by NSDL/UTITSL.

For brand spanking new PAN applications, in case of Individual and HUF people if Address for Communication is picked as Office, then Evidence of Office Address along with Proof of non commercial address is to be submitted to NSDL n. e. f. applications made on and after very first November 2009.

As every RBI guidelines, the choices making e-commerce transactions are required to provide PIN NUMBER (Personal Identification Number) while executing an online purchase. Therefore, before making repayment for online PAN/TAN applications using credit card as well as debit card / online banking, applicant is required to obtain PIN from Banks whose credit card/debt card/net banking is being used.
